The story of reMARK…How the pieces fell  in together
A marketing students’ association first came in to the limelight after the quality review sessions which were conducted last semester and we saw that all other marketing departments in neighboring universities having an active one and plays a major role in their respective faculties. Then our new comer to the department’s lecturer panel; Brand Management Lecturer-Ms. Gamithri Karunasena rekindled the idea of inaugurating a marketing students’ association in us. So making that expectation a reality, the inaugural meeting was held on 5th February 2010 (Friday) at 12.30 p.m. in the Hall no. 10. The principle purpose of having such meeting was to inform the committee members about the developments and future activities of the association. We choose members of our batch randomly for the executive committee representing all the friend groups or so called “sets” (as much as possible) in the 3rd year marketing batch. We didn’t put much effort on going for a voting in a special meeting to appoint the members due to the fact that we want to make this association up and running from the shortest time possible and jumping to work as soon as possible, making it more results oriented rather than worrying on positions and hierarchy.
